In the early nineties “ANCORA” shipping company decided to relocate its headquarters in Glyfada on Artemidos and Themidos streets.
The building consists of 4 over ground levels that include offices of a total 950sq.m coverage and a pilotis that serves as an entrance point. The underground level that expands to the edges of the plot includes a parking area and auxiliary spaces of 760sq.m coverage.
The offices follow an open plan layout, grouped in modules that spread in open spaces. The only areas not following the above concept are the administration offices on the third level and all auxiliary spaces.
A diagonal grid of 7.80 x 7.80 m was chosen for the structure, in order to take maximum volumetric advantage of the site shape.
Continuous edge beams are extended to the exterior of the building, to produce a cohesive overall pattern of void and solid as well as horizontal sun - shading.
The outer skin of the building is finished with a combination of bare faced concrete and large double glazed surfaces.
